After breakfast you will have a tour of Quito's casco colonial where you will discover unique attractions such as the Plaza de San Francisco, Santo Domingo, El Ejido, the artisan market, among others. You will have a typical lunch to later walk the famous street of the 7 crosses that takes us through the most representative churches of Quito in neoclassical, gothic and quitenian school baroque styles. You will then return to your hotel for some rest before an evening visit to "La Ronda", one of the most cheerful and well-known colonial neighborhoods of Quito.
Prepare for a fantastic day through the Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve, a protected area with a great diversity of flora and fauna, inside a supervolcano crater. Here you can go hiking and visit the various recreational areas the park offers, while enjoying a spectacular view of the Pululahua crater and caldera, a perfect place to get away from the noise, hustle and bustle of everyday life. Later you will visit "Ciudad Mitad del Mundo", a known city attraction, where you will have the opportunity to photograph yourself with one foot on the Northern hemisphere and one in the Southern hemisphere at the same time. After lunch, we will return to the hotel and have a rest, before heading out for a city night-out.
✈️ Air Package Day starts with a transfer to Quito Intl. Airport (UIO) for a 40 minute flight into Esmeraldas Intl. Airport (ESM), we'll then head to the south-bound Playa de Same, Casablanca. Check-in at La Gavía Resort Condominium, and settle-in and relax and enjoy the rest of the morning freely before lunch. In the afternoon/night, enjoy the beautiful Same beach, its boardwalk and marina, return to the resort-condominium for a delicious dinner.
🚍 Land Package Day starts early in the morning for a 7 hour road-trip to Playa de Same, Casablanca. The first stop will be at the "Río Blanco" farm in San Miguel de los Bancos town for breakfast, we then return to the road and enjoy the unique landscapes of the Chocó Andino, located in the Northwest of the Andes, it has 285,000 hectares of unspoiled cloud forests. Later, snacks will be provided on the bus before reaching our destination. Check-in at La Gavía Resort Condominium, settle-in and relax. At night, enjoy the beautiful Same beach, its boardwalk and marina, return to the resort-condominium for a delicious dinner.
On our second day on Playa de Same Casablanca, we will have a light tour and leisure time of Playa de Same Casablanca, with sports and recreational activities, then head for a walk to "Peñon del Suicida" viewpoint, on the beach town of Sua. Then we will return to La Gavia Resort Condominium to have lunch and by the pool. In the afternoon we will visit the touristy beaches and boardwalks of Tonsupa and Las Palmas. Then we will have a walk through the nightlife of Tonsupa and the boulevard de las Palmas with dance huts and local cultural shows. We will then return to La Gavia Resort Condominium for dinner and leisure.
✈️ Air Package On the last day, have an early breakfast and enjoy time in the pool until noon. We'll transfer to the Esmeraldas Intl. Airport (ESM) for a domestic flight to Quito Intl. Airport (UIO) and final transfer to Quito city.
🚍 Land Package On the last day, have an early breakfast and enjoy time in the pool, before a light noon snack or ceviche, the tour bus will be waiting for us to a safe return to the city of Quito, which will last an approximate time of 7 hours depending on the weather.
After breakfast you will have a city tour of Otavalo, as the first stop at Lake San Pablo where you can take a walk around the trails that will take you to natural viewpoints such as El Lechero and Mira Lago in addition to having a large variety of flora and fauna. Also, you will have a boat ride to relax. Then you will go to the Condor Park which contributes to the conservation of the Andean condor, birds of prey and promotes scientific research. You will have a bird show and you can have one of them in your hand with the help of the guides. You will also have a brief visit to the plaza de ponchos in Otavalo, a scene of the largest artisan fair destined to commercialize artisan articles, after a traditional lunch you will know the city of Cotacachi known for making leather garments and having natural attractions such as an ecological reserve, among others.
After this visit you will go to lunch in Inty Huasi and later you will go to Hacienda Zuleta where you will stay and have the opportunity to watch condors, ride a horse, visit the local community, ride a mountain bike or simply enjoy a good wine and homemade cheese.
After breakfast at Hacienda Zuleta, you will go to to one of the most attractive destinations in Ecuador, the imposing Cotopaxi Volcano, and the Cotopaxi National Park views and sights including the beautiful Limpiopungo lagoon; you will have the opportunity to explore all its surroundings. Around noon we'll head towards the magnificent Quilotoa Lake Viewpoint high up in the andes, and have lunch overlooking the magnificent lake. After lunch we'll explore the area before heading to the Samay Kirutoa Lodge for a nice dinner and day's break.
After having breakfast, you will head straight to your destination, the city of Baños de Agua Santa; here you will first get acquainted with the location, by visiting two of its viewpoints, Mano de Dios and Columpio de Bellavista. Soon after, you'll accomodate at the hotel and have a traditional 3 course lunch. After it, you'll visit Pailón del Diablo, the largest waterfall in the Pastaza River, a direct tributary of the Amazon River itself; the waterfall name translates to "The Devil's Cauldron" for its dramatic topography and presence. After visiting this superb location you will return to the hotel to rest, have dinner and prepare for the Baños nightlife.
A seamless transfer and cultural activity awaits for you today, as you head towards the indigenous Kichwa community of Kotokocha, here you'll learn how "mukawas" are made, traditional ceramic dishes used to serve yucca chicha; soon after you'll have an interactice activity with indigenous people´s hunting weapons. Later you will have a guided walk through the jungle, an explanation of medicinal plants and wildlife along the trail. Then you'll visit a "mud spa", traditional medicinal clays will be applied all over your body, and you'll enjoy a waterfall wash in an all natural environment. Upon return to the community you will have a traditional lunch, on this trail back, it is possible to observe several bird species and hopefully river otters, and you will have a short walk to the "Indi Sacha" viewpoint from where you will have an impressive view of the jungle; if the right atmospheric conditions are met, you will be able to appreciate volcanoes such as Sangay and Tungurahua. The day will end with you accomodating at the hotel in Puyo, for a good night's rest.
On your last day in Puyo, after breakfast, you will have a short journey to the Las Lajas waterfall where you will have to walk along a 250-step path until you reach the viewpoint of these beautiful waterfalls, there are 2 waterfalls on which you could have a refreshing bath. Then, upon return, you will have a visit to the "Malecón Boayaku" of El Puyo city where you can see a monument to the women of the seven nationalities of the site. You will ascend to the viewpoint and have a panoramic view of the city, and impressive greenery of the Amazon rain forest. You'll be able to observe the Sangay volcano and Altar, right after it you'll return to the hotel to grab your luggage and transfer to the city of Cuenca on a 6hr panoramic bus ride through the Amazon basin.
Along the way, you will stop at the town of Sucúa, where you will share the table with the people of the Shuar Arutam tribe in the Tuntiak Nunkee Ecological Reserve. Soon after, we'll be leaving for our final destination, for a quick night tour on the beautiful city of Cuenca, and check-in at the hotel for a good night's sleep.
Just after breakfast at the hotel, you'll have a walk through Cuenca's Casco Colonial, that has an extensive list of heritage assets such as its churches, historical monuments, squares, parks and its traditional houses. Later on, you will have lunch at the Cuenca Gastronomy Museum where you can learn about the city's living gastronomic heritages. Then you will have a relaxing afternoon in Cuenca's hot springs, waters filled with medicinal benefits in an exclusive spa, you'll have a light dinner in the Spa complex and soon after, return to the hotel.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will have a full day tour to the "El Cajas", a high-altitude natural reserve 40 minutes away from Cuenca, with several lakes popular for hiking, camping & wildlife viewing; including Andean condors, giant hummingbirds and raccoon-like coatis. The park houses a permanent lake system of more than 2000 lake bodies of glacial origin and various elevations; the national park also portects the ancient route of the "Qhapaq Ñan" or “Inca trail”, a network of roads that cross the territories that were part of the Incan empire.
You will later visit the "Dos Chorreras" Inn and Hacienda, for a traditional local cuisine three-course lunch, hacienda tour and engage in farm daily activities, finally you will go to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Cajas before returning to the city of Cuenca.
✈️ Air PackageYou'll be leaving the city of Cuenca at dawn, and head towards the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) in Guayaquil, here you'll have a quick breakfast snack; our trip will begin upon arrival at the San Cristóbal airport, you'll be transfered to your hotel and later we'll have a tour of Playa Mann, a white sand beach formed by the fragmentation of shells, the clarity of its waters favors the practice of snorkeling. Due to its proximity to a populated center, this beach is one of thr few reserved for recreational use; sunbathing, swiming and the beautiful landscapes of the area are the main attractions. Then you will have the afternoon free to explore San Cristóbal on your own or with a guide depending on your preference.
On our second day, after a delicious breakfast, we will visit La Lobería, a place known for local enojyment and its main attraction, sea lions all over the beach, sea tutrtles are also observed along the shores, and large numbers marine iguanas lay on the rocky reefs of the bay.
Later we will go to Cerro Tijeretas from which you can see the frigate birds and the beautiful Wreck Bay, as well as Puerto Baquerizo Moreno in all its splendor. It is an ideal place to diving, swiming and snorkeling, but a perfect place to enjoy the immense marine fauna the island has. It is a fantastic place to observe the view of the white sand beaches on one side and the Baquerizo port on the other.
After lunch, we will go to the Interpretation Center, an official Galapagos National Park stop; it has a variety of community activities and institutional workshops; in it, the natural and human history of the islands is showcased through an interpretive tour.
On our third day in the Galapagos Islands, after breakfast we will have a navigable tour to Santa Cruz Island, in chich we will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, an opportunity to learn about the conservation of the Galapagos Islands in action; more than 200 scientists and volunteers participate in research and conservation efforts here, their reasearch and measuring of the arhipelago's health is vitally important to protect the pristine habitat of the Galapagos National Park. Currently, the main attraction for visitors are the baby turtles raised in captivity and some permanent exhibits.
Upon our return to Santa Cruz, we'll hike to the beach of "Tortuga Bay" which bears that name because it is a nesting site for the black turtle; it takes approximately an hour to reach the beach on foot. Admission is free, but you must fill in your information with the park ranger. The day will end with a night tour along the Santa Cruz handicraft market.
✈️ Air Package On the last day after breakfast and relaxation time in the hotel pool, get ready for a checking out and leave for Puerto Ayora. You will take a ferry to Baltra airport to catch your flight to Guayaquil or Quito. We await your return to Galapagos where we will wait for you with open arms to provide you with the best service.
