Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

• Day : 1 Quito-Lago Agrio flight, brief city tour and park info-walk

  ✈️ Air Package Day starts with a transfer to Quito Intl. Airport (UIO) for a 45 minute flight into Francisco de Orellana Airport (OCC) and immediate transfer to the city of Lago Agrio; after a hotel check-in and settling-in, a city tour will start and you'll explore Lago Agrio´s community park for learning and awareness, the contrasts and effects of deforestation and oil exploitation in the region are evident and pretty much present in the community. Later, enjoy the local night-life, and have a rest; we'll head to the east-bound Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve entrance next day at dawn.

  🚍 Land Package Day starts early in the morning for a 7 hour road-trip to Lago Agrio, you'll have breakfast on the road and lunch once arriving to Lago Agrio; after a hotel check-in and settling-in, a city tour will start and you'll explore Lago Agrio´s community park for learning and awareness, the contrasts and effects of deforestation and oil exploitation in the region are evident and pretty much present in the community. Later, enjoy the local night-life, and have a rest; we'll head to the east-bound Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve entrance next day at dawn.

• Day : 2 Cuyabeno National Reserve arrival

  After breakfast, the team will pick you up at 9:30 am to begin your journey, after a bus ride of approximately 2 hours, you will arrive at the entrance of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, once registered, you will enter the Cuyabeno Reserve, then board and observe the incredible Amazon rainforest. During a 2-hour canoe trip to the eco-lodge, you will be able to observe Amazonian wildlife and vegetation. After arrival at the Lodge, you will have lunch and delivery of the room. After a short rest you will go out by canoe to explore the Laguna Grande, you can observe the pink river dolphins and others, then you can swim in the middle of the Laguna Grande and enjoy the first sunset. On the way back you will have a night walk.

• Day : 3 Hike, Paddle and Swim in the bio-diverse wild

  After breakfast, your guide will take you on a three- to four-hour jungle hike . On the hike, you will experience the transition of different types of forests such as swamps and flooded forests. You will have a brief explanation of ecosystems, wildlife, and medicinal plants. From the canoe, if you are lucky you can see monkeys, turtles, among others. Returning to the Lodge, you will have lunch and have time to rest. You can rest in the lobby or in the hammocks until the next activity. Around 16:00 you will go to explore the Hormiga River by canoe and visit the ¨Caiman Cocha¨ lagoon, one of the 14 lagoons of the Cuyabeno Reserve. This area is a flooded forest called ¨Igapo¨ a closed ecosystem by itself. After sunset you will go searching for alligators by canoe. In addition to the 4 different species of alligators, you will also try to find boas and other animals that roam at night. Upon return you will have dinner at the Lodge and end the day.

• Day : 4 Deep rainforest Siona tribe community visit

  After having breakfast, you will leave the Lodge for a full day trip. You will travel along the Cuayabeno River by motorized canoe until you reach the Siona community ¨Puerto Bolívar ¨. On the way to the community, the guide will show you the Amazon wildlife such as monkeys, birds, snakes, among others. In Puerto Bolívar a woman from the Siona community will welcome you and take you to harvest yucca. It will show the process of making traditional cassava bread. You can help and taste the bread. Upon return you will have lunch at the Lodge, then you will take a short walk to an old sacred tree called ¨ceiba¨ near the community. In the afternoon you can meet one of the shamans of the Siona community. This will explain about the Siona culture and the tradition of the ayahuasca ceremonies. He will give a brief demonstration of the singing and cleaning procedure that they do during the ceremonies. Around 16:00, You will have a trip upriver back to Bamboo Lodge, depending on the time of return you will be able to refresh yourself in the ¨Laguna Grande¨ and enjoy another beautiful sunset and dinner at the Lodge.

• Day : 5 Hike, Paddle and Swim in the bio-diverse wild

  This day is full of rowing adventures. After breakfast at the Lodge you will go on a long rowing trip. You will visit the ¨Cananbueno¨ lagoon, a highly protected area of the Cuyabeno reserve where motorized canoes are prohibited. You will navigate in complete silence through the Amazon rainforest, an unforgettable experience and without the noise of the engine, the chances of observing wildlife are greater. You will have lunch at the Lodge, take a break to eat in the forest and later a short walk. You will paddle back to the lodge and have time to rest and enjoy the forest from a hammock. Around 16:00 in the afternoon you can go to the ¨Laguna Grande¨ again and swim. Dinner will be at the Lodge and later, if you are not tired, there is time for another longer night walk.

• Day : 6 Cuyabeno-Lago Agrio transfer and Lago Agrio-Quito departure

  ✈️ Air Package You will have to get up early for bird watching. Most birds are most active early, so this last day will rise for dawn. From the bird watching tower you can see toucans, arasaris, oropendulas and more. If you have good weather, you can paddle out in the canoes to the ¨Laguna Grande¨. Back at the Lodge, you will have breakfast and pack your luggage for the return to Lago Agrio. The last canoe ride through the Cuyabeno back to the reserve entrance where you can see more wildlife along the way. The driver will take you to a restaurant in Lago Agrio for lunch, and after it a transfer vehicle will take you to Francisco de Orellana Airport (OCC) for a 45 minute flight into Quito Intl. Airport (UIO) and final transfer to Quito city.
