Due to a challenging geography and lack of road infraestructure until the 1960s, the ecuadorian central and southern andes region is remarkably authentic to a timeperiod where local spanish colonials and andean indigenous communities coexisted and thived over the years, giving birth to Ecuador's mestizo culture and people.
This all-inclusive package will take you to beautiful and culturally rich spanish cities, andean indigenous communities and the out-of-this-world landscapes of the Ecuadorian central and southern Andes region, where good food, lakes, snow-capped mountains and the beautiful people of the Andes will assure the adventure and discovery of a lifetime.

🚍 Land Package After having breakfast, you will head straight to your destination, the city of Baños de Agua Santa; here you will first get acquainted with the location, by visiting two of its viewpoints, Mano de Dios and Columpio de Bellavista. Soon after, you'll accomodate at the hotel and have a traditional 3 course lunch. After it, you'll visit Pailón del Diablo, the largest waterfall in the Pastaza River, a direct tributary of the Amazon River itself; the waterfall name translates to "The Devil's Cauldron" for its dramatic topography and presence. After visiting this superb location you will return to the hotel to rest, have dinner and prepare for the Baños nightlife.
Today we'll visit "El Guayabal" a local artisan candy "factory" where you will learn about the process and elaboration of traditional guava sweets, blackberry syrup and marshmallows. Later you'll have lunch in Baños downtown and up for a walking tour. Soon after we'll head to Puntzan Canopy to enjoy the Baños cloud forests from above, zip lining across them, a unique Baños adventure. You will then return to the hotel, chill and prepare for a night-out in Baños.
A seamless transfer and cultural activity awaits for you today, as you head towards the indigenous Kichwa community of Kotokocha, here you'll learn how "mukawas" are made, traditional ceramic dishes used to serve yucca chicha; soon after you'll have an interactice activity with indigenous people´s hunting weapons. Later you will have a guided walk through the jungle, an explanation of medicinal plants and wildlife along the trail. Then you'll visit a "mud spa", traditional medicinal clays will be applied all over your body, and you'll enjoy a waterfall wash in an all natural environment. Upon return to the community you will have a traditional lunch, on this trail back, it is possible to observe several bird species and hopefully river otters, and you will have a short walk to the "Indi Sacha" viewpoint from where you will have an impressive view of the jungle; if the right atmospheric conditions are met, you will be able to appreciate volcanoes such as Sangay and Tungurahua. The day will end with you accomodating at the hotel in Puyo, for a good night's rest.
🚍 Land Package On your last day in Puyo, after breakfast, you will have a short journey to the Las Lajas waterfall where you will have to walk along a 250-step path until you reach the viewpoint of these beautiful waterfalls, there are 2 waterfalls on which you could have a refreshing bath. Then, upon return, you will have a visit to the "Malecón Boayaku" of El Puyo city where you can see a monument to the women of the seven nationalities of the site. You will ascend to the viewpoint and have a panoramic view of the city, and impressive greenery of the Amazon rain forest. You'll be able to observe the Sangay volcano and Altar, after it you'll have lunch in the city center and return to the hotel to take your luggage and transfer to the city of Riobamba where you'll accommodate at Hacienda Abraspungo, a typical Ecuadoran restored hacienda house, turned into a hotel.
After breakfast you'll head towards the city of Riobamba and its beautiful colonial downtown, once the capital of Ecuador, the city is one of the first spanish cities ever founded on the Andes. The Casco Colonial of Riobamba is mostly of italian design, and its architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries considered unique. You'll visit the most representative churches of the city and the city's cultural museum. After it, you'll head to Colta Lagoon, Laguna Amarilla and Balvanera church, so you can have a taste of the most beautiful landscapes of the Ecuadorian central Andes. We'll be returning to Riobamba by night where you can explore it's casco colonial once again.
After breakfast you'll head for Palmira, which stands out for having a small but attractive desert, that according to locals resembles the great Sahara desert. Before reaching our destination, you'll stop to explore a lake system located inside the Sangay National Park, a magical destination in itself.
One of the main lakes you'll explore is Ozogoche, an it's known for harboring some kind of magnetic "attribute" to which a particular bird species called "chorlitos" reach the lake and plummet to kill themselves, every year around mid-September, the reasons behind the phenomenom are yet to be unveiled. Soon after, you'll reach the Atillo lake, a very beautiful and natural place for contemplation.
Finally you'll arrive to Palmira desert, a unique attraction in Ecuador, that as its name suggests, appears to be taken and located here from somewhere else on earth; in addition to the impressive landscapes through the sandy areas and pine forests, and the Chimborazo volcano on the background, the desert is particularly unknown and therefore pretty much untouched. After exploring the desert you'll return to the city of Quito in aproximately 4 hours.
